MANITOBA SCHOOL BOARDS ASSOCIATION ANNUAL CONVENTION

The words selected for the theme of the 2023 Annual Convention recognize the past, but they also capture the energy building as we re-emerge and come together once again. This year’s convention will provide meaningful opportunities for trustees and member boards to gain perspective and clarity and to focus on the important work that lies ahead.

Two keynote speakers will frame the opening day of the convention. Chief Cadmus Delorme, Chief of Cowessess First Nation and Natalie Bergstrasser will share their stories, their commitment to young people and their vision for the future.

A variety of workshops and presentations will be offered on Thursday to round out the first day. Elections for provincial executive positions and the business of the association will take place on Friday. 

The Minister of Education has been invited to participate in the return of the traditional closed-door meeting with board chairs. As well, a provincial party forum on education has been proposed as part of our event in the lead up to the fall general election.
